The Shape in the Lake is a low-budget short film loosely inspired on the short story “Pickman's Model” by H. P. Lovecraft. The film had a budget of €500. All those involved worked on the film without pay. The film was shot over three days near Cologne - Germany in the summer of 2024 and premiered at the International Trashfilm Film Festival in Kassel in April 2025. Among other awards, the film won the prize for Best Film Made for £1,000 or less at the Glowflare Horror Film Festival in the UK.

SYNOPSIS
Recently, an unknown painting was discoverd in an old basement in Boston Massachusetts. The painting is now hidden in a secret location. A man tries to discover the mystery behind the unknown painting.
